Day 5

Unit 5: Day 5

Objective: Students will be able to write an equation of a line given data points

Definition: To be able to make an equation of a line, you will first have to find the slope using the (y2-y1)(x2-x1) formula. Then plugging in a set of points to to find the b in Y = Mx + B, or in other words, the y-intercept.

Pictures/Graphs: This picture below clearly shows a good way to first find the slope of the equation, then with that information, begin to find the y-intercept

3 question quiz:

#1. Write the equation of a line that passes through (1,-1) and (-3, 7)

#2. Find the slope of a line that passes through (5,-9) and (-3, 8)

#3. Find the slope of a line passing through (34, -42) and (34, -50)

Answers to quiz:

#1.
